A premium poker card protector that detects hidden RFID readers and reveals marked cards. Three tools in one chip-sized device. No battery required.
Passively detects undisclosed 13.56 MHz RFID readers. An LED illuminates when an electromagnetic field is present near the table. No battery. No maintenance. Works forever.
Built-in 25mm magnifying lens with a permanently bonded optical filter. Reveals luminous ink marks, UV-reactive patterns, markings from fingernails, and subtle printing irregularities normally invisible to the naked eye. No moving parts. No switching. Always ready.
Premium weighted chip covers your hole cards. Prevents unintended mucking, protects against fouled hands from contact with other players' cards, and guards against accidental exposure. Flat bottom won't mark or scratch cards.
Three challenges. One device.
See what the naked eye can't.
RFID field detection in a standard card protector form. No lens. No giveaway.
RFID field detection. Marked card inspection. Physical card protection.

Set the Pocket Protector on your hole cards like any card protector. The flat bottom sits securely without marking.
No light means no RFID field detected. If the LED illuminates, an RFID reader is active nearby. The indicator stays visible while the field is present.
Look through the built-in magnifying lens while the device sits on your cards. The integrated optical filter reveals luminous ink and UV marks on card backs.
No battery to charge. No app to install. No maintenance. It works passively for the lifetime of the device.
"Built by the team that invented the RFID playing card in 2004. We know how the technology works — and how to defend against its misuse."

The device contains a tuned antenna coil that harvests energy directly from nearby RFID reader fields. When an RFID reader transmits its electromagnetic field, the antenna captures enough energy to illuminate an LED. No battery, no microcontroller, no maintenance. The same physics that powers contactless payment cards powers this device.
Not under normal circumstances. Phone NFC operates at very low power and extremely short range (a few millimeters). The Pocket Protector is tuned to detect the stronger fields produced by dedicated RFID reader antennas, which have much higher power output than phone NFC. At typical pocket or table distance, phone NFC will not trigger the indicator.
Yes, with awareness. Legitimate RFID poker tables (like those used in televised events) have reader antennas embedded in the table surface. The Pocket Protector will detect these fields, which is expected and normal. The key insight: if the LED activates in a location where no disclosed RFID system should exist, that warrants attention. The device is a detection tool, not a jammer — it does not interfere with any RFID system.
The 25mm lens provides 2.5–5x magnification with a permanently bonded optical filter coating. It works as a high-quality magnifier for inspecting card backs for fingernail marks, bends, or printing irregularities — while simultaneously revealing luminous ink marks and UV-reactive patterns that are invisible to the naked eye. There's no switch or mode change. The filter is always active. Look through the lens while the device sits on your cards — you can inspect the card back right through the magnifying window.
Both are 50mm passive RFID detectors using the same core circuit. The difference is form and function. Low Stakes ($59) has a solid top with embossed artwork and a concealed LED — it looks like any decorative card protector. No lens, no giveaway. Specialist ($99) adds a 25mm magnifying lens with optical filter for inspecting card backs for luminous ink and UV-reactive markings. If you want marked card detection on top of RFID detection, get the Specialist.
Yes — planned as a future model. LF (125 kHz) covers older proximity card systems. The dual-band variant will be the same 50mm form factor. Sign up for launch notifications to stay informed.
If a player or a game operator objects to you using the Pocket Protector in a game, then you don't want to be playing in that game.
Yes. The Pocket Protector is a passive receive-only device. It does not transmit, read, write, or interfere with any RFID signal. It's classified as an incidental radiator under FCC Part 15 and requires no certification. It's functionally equivalent to a card protector with a magnifying glass and an LED indicator.
Indefinitely. With no battery, no moving parts, and no digital electronics, there is nothing to wear out. The lens is permanently bonded and scratch-resistant. We offer a lifetime warranty because we expect it to outlast you.
